Time for Season 3Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2IWar Zone 2.0comes to an end, and with the end of the new season, a new era begins in the popular first-person shooter series.
The Season 3 Battle Pass isn't the only thing at stake in this update, as it looks like Warzone 2.0 will be getting a rebrand soon. The title font was changed and "2.0" was officially removed from the branding. However, that's not all players can expect. Here's what we know so far about the content of Call of Duty Season 4.
Call of Duty: Warzone and the release date of MW 2 season 4
The Season 4 update will go liveJune 14Already9:00 a.m. Pacific Timeon all platforms.
While full patch notes will be released by Infinity Ward and Raven Software ahead of Season 4's release, we know that the following studios have provided support for the changes: Activision Central Design, Activision Localization Dublin, Activision QA, Activision Shanghai, Beenox, Demonware, High Moon Studios , Raven Software, Sledgehammer Games, Team Ricochet, Toys for Bob, and Treyarch. Season 4 was certainly an effort of the whole man on board.
Publisher forcall to duty, is currently being studied as MMicrosoft is trying to buy Activision Blizzard King(and all of the studios above plus others) for Xbox. TheThe merger was blocked by the British CMAIis facing lawsuits from the FTCin the United States, although it has been approved by many other countries.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Season 4 Maps
Modern Warfare 2 gets an impressive shipment of 6 new maps for content-hungry multiplayer fans. The seventh map will be released later in the mid-season update, but for now, players can look forward to Showdown, Kunstenaar District, Mercado, Penthouse, Mawizeh Marsh, and Ahkdar Village.
Old-school Call of Duty fans may remember this map from its heydayCall of Duty 4 Modern Warfareor from its current location as part of the Al Mazrah landscape in Warzone. Aside from adding a few connection points, not much has changed in how players will remember Showdown, so old pros will feel right at home. Duel will be the base map, so look for it in your standard 6v6 playlists.
Kunstenaar Quarter - pronounced "khun-steh-nawr" and translated as "art district" - is the new location of Vondel, an upcoming Warzone map that we'll go into in more detail later. The Kunstenaar district has a row of townhouses, boutiques, a central square and a navigable canal to the left.
The Kunstenaar district inherits the classic three-lane map from Call of Duty, with streets lined with art and graffiti. Shadow Company trucks litter the streets and you never know when an enemy will jump on one. So be careful how you proceed unless you want to become a military level pancake. Or grab one for a more strategic position.
This subsection of Las Almas has been allowed to shoot and clash. This large, covered building has multiple levels, but entry is only permitted in small groups of duos or trios.
Like Mercado, Penthouse only appears in Gunfight and Clash mode, so this little map is designed for small squads and features a Penthouse in the heart of Chicago with a sports pool, an outdoor fire pit, and a cramped interior for close-up shooting. quarter combat scenarios. Chicago's skyline may be magnificent, but don't let the enemy take you by surprise lest they deliver the final blow.
It's time for the big boys battlefields. Al Mazrah's famous attraction, Mawizeh Marshlands, is home to the abandoned remains of the River Diamond Luxury Resort. Suitable for both foot and car traffic, Mawizeh Marshlands offers plenty of gameplay with murky waters, a flooded pool and construction machinery scattered around. Wetlands will be limited to large team game modes.
Like the Mawizeh Wetlands, the Al Mazrah Ahkdar village landmark will also be split up for large team play modes. From the railroad in the south to the step farms and mountain base in the north, players will recognize that this is the fortified village where Showdown is located.
The streets of the village are frequented by vehicles, so foot traffic is better on the rooftops - and don't forget the role play. In both Ground War and Invasion, keep an eye out for Ahkdar Village and the Mawizeh Swamp.
Vondel Waterfront is the seventh map to hit Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer this season, although it won't enter the playlist rotation until mid-season. More information on this map will be revealed later as its release is imminent.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 4 multiplayer modes
Fans of bigger teams on core maps who want the experience to be smaller and more immersive can enjoy the 10v10 mosh pit playlist. However, 10 out of 10 Mosh Pit left the Search & Destroy and Prisoner Rescue communities out in the cold.
Those looking to increase the intensity of the One Life game modes will appreciate Risk in the new 12v12 playlists in Search & Destroy and Prison Rescue, but will want to watch their mic manners for the inevitable 1v7 scene. 6v6 mode will remain part of standard Quick Play playlists, but 12v12 editions will debut in Season 4.
Call of Duty: Warzone - Season 4 map revealed
Warzone Resurgence gets its long-awaited and poorly kept secret: a new map, Vondel. Located somewhere between Al Mazrah and Ashika Island, up to 72 players can immerse themselves in Resurgence game modes or 18 operators in Demilitarized Zone missions. Vondel is a mix of city streets and canals, as well as several larger structures that can be accessed from inside the building. Verticality is the order of the day here, with parkour tracks and plenty of mystery giving players a reason to truly explore what the new region has to offer.
While traveling through Vondel, players can expect to discover 15 different landmarks, including a medieval castle, an abandoned zoo, a Renaissance-style Greek town hall, and a football stadium that is currently being prepared for a paintball tournament. There are also plenty of backstreet cafes, tightly packed townhouses, and winding canals offering strategic vantage points.
The Vondel Channels offer a great opportunity to test the new Tactical Amphibious Vehicle (TAV). This slow but versatile four-seater offers versatility at the expense of speed, but it could change the way you navigate the waterways and roads of the newest island of Beenox.
Beenox was previously responsible for the hugely popular Warzone Classic map, Rebirth Island, so the company is under a lot of pressure to deliver it to Vondel. However, the new tab isn't just limited to Resurgence and the DMZ. TraditionalBattle Royalewill head to Vondel with mid-season Reloaded content, including a brand new underground gulag and public event focused on job scanning with some additional [REDACTED] quests we'll have to wait for more info on.
More information on Vondel will be revealed during Summer Games FestJune 8.
Rebirth is getting an update
Resurgence mode has been pretty weak since its inception in Warzone when Rebirth Island launched, but the mode will get some interesting updates that may shake up the gameplay a bit in Season 4. The two new features introduced in Resurgence are the dynamic respawn timer and the revenge icon.
Dynamic respawn timers change the pace of play in teams that lose a player due to disconnect (and out of rage) to reduce the time it takes for a teammate to reposition based on how many teammates involved in the game are connected. If a disconnected teammate is lucky enough to rejoin the game, the timer will adjust accordingly and return to normal.
"Vengeance Icon" is almost exactly what you think when you hear the title. A clever little red and black skull icon will now appear in the direction of the enemy combatant responsible for your recent untimely death. This particular feature has some caveats, most notably that the icon will only be visible for the duration of the teammate resurrection countdown.
If your crew eliminates the culprit while you are away from the battlefield, you will all be rewarded with 5 seconds of wasted time for all teammates currently waiting to be redeployed.
The addition of the Vengeance icon is intended to help teams that may not be using communication devices by giving them additional situational awareness without the need for a mic.
While the icon can help you track down someone who has knocked down your teammate, tracking that person can be risky because you don't have more details like how many of their teammates are around or where exactly they are. take your revenge depends entirely on your skill as a team.
Call of Duty: Warzone - Limited Time Mode
Vondel changes not only the geographic landscape of Warzone, but also the available playlists. The map will launch in "Lockdown" - a four-team objective-based mode inspired by the "Hardpoint" multiplayer mode that tasks teams with holding zones rather than just being the last survivors.
Players appear with custom loadouts from the start, and matches last about twice as long as standard Hardpoint multiplayer. Expect to play about four games in a one-hour marathon session, with a little break if you're fast.
Call of Duty: Warzone - Vondel Launch Event Attack.
A secret agent and a group of heavily masked mercenaries arrive on Vondel, and you are tasked with fighting in the launch event, Assault on Vondel. From June 14 to July 7, you and your team must complete medal challenges that unlock personal rewards while contributing to the community-wide medal tally. Predetermined medal goals unlock community-wide rewards such as taxis and trams, a power-up flare field upgrade, and the new Tonfa melee weapon that unlocks.
Personal Supply Boxes return as part of the Vondel Attack event, but have been renamed as Favorite Supply Boxes and will contain different content based on each Operator's personal loadout. The box is expected to contain the primary and secondary weapons from the gear you've marked as your favourites, along with ammo and an armor plate to help you last a little longer.
While the first custom set is favorited by default, you can set another custom set as a favorite by hovering over it in the menu and selecting "Set as favorite". This will reveal that equipment in your favorite Supply Box when you open it. These chests are rare, so open them quickly to get your favorite gear before the enemy gets it.
Boost Flares is a field upgrade that will be available at buy stations in Battle Royale, providing a high-risk, higher-reward mechanism that can change the outcome of a battle. When purchased at the point of sale, the Power Torch can be used to signal the return of a random teammate. Think of it like splitting a buy station in your pocket, except you can't decide which teammate gets resurrected. However, when launched, a signal rocket is launched into the sky. So be vigilant as your team will become the target of predatory teams looking to beat the team at a disadvantage.
If players collect enough Tokens to earn them after Phase 1 of the Vondel Storm event, the map will be updated with the new taxi system. These taxis are autonomous boats that navigate the Vondel canals on fixed routes, much like the ever-circulating Al Mazrah train. However, players can speed up the boats in case they need to get away from the crime scene quickly.
In Al Mazrah, the sandstorm that decimated the map has finally subsided and the city center has been severely damaged. Players will find that the city of Al Mazrah is now home to several large backwaters, which affects how players can approach and interact with fighters in high-rise buildings such as the TV tower, embassy, and skyscraper. Small downtown buildings have been flooded and dunes are blocking roads, including a highway.
Call of Duty: Warzone - Demilitarized Zone
The Call of Duty DMZ has gone through some big changes over the past three seasons that have made the mode awkward and cumbersome to navigate. Fortunately, we're seeing the DMZ menu system get some much-needed tweaks in Season 4 as a centralized hub for all communications and operator upgrades is released. The Forward Operating Base (FOB) allows players to view their objectives and track upgrade progress across all DMZ offerings. FOB changes are further broken down into four different categories:
- Storage: Larger wallet and key compartment
- Gun Locker: Insured and contraband weapons and upgrades
- Reward Board: Exfil, trade recipes and buy station discounts
- Communication Station: Urgent access to the mission
FOB unlocks Urgent Missions for players, a brand new type of faction quest. They are usually quick to complete and are a good way to gain reputation and unlock additional story missions. All of this can be tracked within the FOB itself and allows you to unlock additional insured slots, grant access to your wallet outside of the game, as well as access to growing DMZ items such as inventory and wallet capacity. The wallet now allows you to keep cash withdrawn from the DMZ and gives you the option to redistribute it with a bag full of cash to make certain Operator missions easier.
While most of the upcoming DMZ changes will reload [REDACTED] for Season 4, there will be new missions and a brand new Phalanx faction, as well as a Signals Intelligence contract. More information on these changes will be announced on June 9 during a special Infinity Ward DMZ community update. However, what can be revealed now is the new DMZ dynamic fog system. The Vondel was built on a series of canals below sea level and it is natural that the area is subject to heavy fog during bad weather conditions.
Dynamic fog is a new technology in Call of Duty that will help players feel deeper into the world while offering unique gameplay challenges. While the weather on Vondel is usually sunny with few clouds, there is always a chance of fog appearing, especially in Rebirth and Battle Royale modes.
The final episode of the rally's epic story comes to an end with Season 4 of Reloaded. While most information about the finale of the raid is still kept under wraps until mid-season, we do know that those who complete the raid will be rewarded with an exclusive Operator Farah skin.
Call of Duty: Warzone and MW2 - new operators
As with every new Battle Pass, there are tons of new Operators and packs to collect. Season 4 is no different and this time five new Operators will enter the War Zone.
Daniio is a former undercover FSB agent who first appeared in Call of Duty in the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot. With a black mask covering his disfigured face, Nitko is a mysterious leader with nothing to fear and the ability to back it all up.
He has been a fugitive since October 2022, working with the CIA to track down Viktor Zakhaev in Verdansk, but will reappear as part of the Season 4 Battle Pass as he leads a new special forces group attempting to take control of Vondel.
Io is only available to members who have purchased the Blackcell Upgrade for their Battle Pass. More information has not yet been revealed.
As a Golden Star child who lost her parents in the early days of the Urzikstan conflict, Ana Vega decided to follow in their footsteps to reconnect with them. She graduated with honors from the United States Military Academy and then enrolled in the Army Combat Medic Specialty Training Program.
He has good skills as both a combatant and a medic, which resulted in a quick promotion to a position in the special forces unit of the 75th Ranger Regiment. As one of the first Ranger medics, she was later hired by Task Force Pineapple, a volunteer unit tasked with siphoning US resources from Central and West Asia, where she helps rescue her allies after an RPG attack. She was awarded the Medical Badge.
Players can unlock Ana Vega in the Operator Pack at the start of Season 4.
Intel for Izzy was redacted to a later date. They are expected to be released as part of the Seasonal Operator Pack.
Like Io and Izzy, Butch has been locked away pending the reveal of the operator pack details for this season. However, Butch's appearance has also been darkened.
Call of Duty: Warzone and MW2 - new weapons
A new assault rifle and submachine gun will be added to players' armories, and potential melee weapons may be available as rewards for participating in community events. The secret shotgun will be revealed later in the mid-season event.
Featuring a frame vibration control system, this bullpup assault rifle operates smoothly and has minimal recoil. It will be available at launch as a D13 Sector Battle Pass unlock.
At launch, but in sector D19 of the battle pass, there's also the ISO 45, an old-school submachine gun seen in Modern Warfare (2019). Light and mobile, the ISO 45 is perfect for close to medium range combat, while the larger caliber cartridges make it heavy compared to its counterparts.
We briefly mentioned tonfa earlier in this article, but it is a potential reward for unlocking the Vondel Attack event. Constructed of tough polymer, this edgeless melee weapon deals quick and brutal blunt force damage to other Operators on the battlefield.
The tonfa originated from the warriors of the Ryukyu Islands of Japan who used armor and staffs along with a club-style wooden tonfa to brutally defeat the enemy. While tonfas are traditionally defensive weapons, Call of Duty offers no blocking options, so we just use these clever little things to knock each other down with some wonderfully brutal finishers.
[DATA EXPUNGED] Shotgun
The team has done their best to ensure this seasonal update tells us all what to expect while keeping a lot of redacted information. As with the Mystery Operators, more information on this shotgun will be revealed during Season 4 of Reloaded.
